Stowe Park's Amazing Bridge

Came across this amazing bridge a week ago.. it was in the middle of Stowe Park just outside Buckingham, I have never really taken any images of a bridge as much as this one. The sun light was just so perfect that I took quite a few images of the bridge. Hardly any editing was required to any of the bridge images, which is very rare for me to say such a thing.

To Sepia or not to Sepia

Below are four image I took a while ago. They are all is sepia, but many photographers are deveided with this effect, some love it and some hate it. I have always been on the love side, as alot of my clients love this effect and are always pleased with the final sepia image.

I am quite proud that I have managed to convert a few of my friends/photographers into using sepia, but the key is not to over use this effect, wise every other shoot becomes sepia and you will get bored of it.

This is my favourite out of the set, it is a good classical sepia portrait
The four images are with model friend Daisy Bright, the use of sepia here is very bold and punchy and striking, but that is the wonder of sepia, it just gives an extra something that black and white or colour cannot.

And I'm Back

Have not made a post for a while.. but am back on here, am probably the only one who reads my own blog but hey, lol it keeps me sane.. Here are a few recent images to help calm myself against my anxiety as this is really why are started the blog in the first place..

The first image is of a sculpture just outside Milton Keynes, it is very futuristic looking and really makes a great subject to photograph and I took quite a few. And the second image is of a post outside the local Buddist Temple in Milton Keynes across the way from the pyramid, the sky was truly amamzing that day and made a great backdrop for some outdoor photography

Towering Portraits

I feel sometimes the art of taking a portrait shot in photography is over complicated, where in fact this is where the natrual capture comes in, just a quick click of the shutter can produce some of your best portrait work, without over thinking the whole process. I love to take portrait shots all the time and i do favour outdoor portraits to a studio set up, but every photographer has there own preference, so just click away and you will be surprised what you end up with..

so with these two shots of my Dad and my Mum, there just natrual shots i took in the grounds of the tower of London, when your out and about with your camera always make the most of your surrounding and the Tower did not disapoint.

The shot of my Dad was outside the que for an ice cream, i know its a sharp crop, but sometimes you have to be arty and a bit different, but for me it works.

The shof my Mum was just a quick snap of her coming out of Jewel House, walking towards me and it worked very well, as there is a tiny bit of movement in the image.. TBNP

Apologies for not doing a blog for a few days.. the anxiety has been quite bad.. well very bad actually but as im nore myself, than i have been for the last few days, thought i may aswell do a blog and post more photo's.. so with these two photos, im again refering to natrual capture and with family around you can get the best chances of that..

Both of these images were taken a  few months ago on the same day out near Three Locks in Bedfordshire, the first is one of my brother in law arsin around in a red phone box.. now as a photographer i adore red phone boxes.. they always provide the oppurtunity for an interesting images, and again it proved so. The other is outside the Three Locks pub on a gorgeous afternoon, was a good selfy as managed to get both of us in okay.. but made a fab natrual capture.. AL

Something Different

I like to think that i am an original and unique photographer.. looking past my anxiety off course lol.. my subjects always vary and i like, well i try to keep my photography as fresh as possible.. as in i dont always photograph the same flower or the same person again and again, other wise i think a photographer can loose there way and become stale in their images and loose the art form of photography..

What I tend to do, and this is just personaly, every photographer has their own way of shaking things up a bit. To me it's just a matter of switching.. so if you shoot mainly in a studio, try doing location work and visversa.. if you like to take photos of models then try doing landscape photography..

Thats what i have done recently, i have gone back to the start and gone back to landsscape shots for now, as i have done alot and i mean alot of work with various lovely models.. but my work started to get very samey and i was loosing my photographic identity if you like.. so had to make that switch to as i said keep things fresh..

There is nothing worse.. nothing, than having a mental block on your photography, i would find myself just staring at my camera bag thinking, i should go out and take a few images of something or rather, even if they are totally random shots, they could turn out to be the best shots that you have ever done in your life.. you just dont know, you have to really force yourself to take your camera out and about with you.. no matter where you end up, you just take it and take random shots.. then slowly i find you will break the mental block, but you have to keep on at it..

this is a good example of one of my random snaps.. this was taken at comic con at the NEC in birmingham last weekend.. just happen to capture this chappy .. pondering, thought it was a great natrual shot, i just want to know what he is thinking? AL

Let Me Introduce Myself..

Hello there.. my name is Al Saunders and im a keen photographer.. and have been for well over twenty years.. when i was given my first camera as a teenager and have not stopped snapping away since.. What's with The Bare Naked Photographer bit, you wonder? Well for the last few months i have suffered with the annoying and frustrating illness of Anxiety.. and my photography has become a way for me to cope with the illness.. The reason i say Bare Naked as too me it is the best way to desrcibe how it can make me feel.. as sometines although i have family and friends around me supporting me, it can feel like im bare naked and very alone.. when im not.. its hard to describe it really.. but that is the only way i can translate how it feels.. Okay.. now.. so this blog will feature my images and my adventures in photography and to also be a bit different from the rest i will incorparte how my anxiety is tamed by the use of photography.. I am a student of all aspects of the photographic world, but i like artistic and creative styles of photography.. aswell as landscape and portrait.. and i would most surley see myself as an unconventional photographer, as i dont exactly follow the rules of photography.. as im not a technique man.. more of a natrualistic photographer and this is shown in my images..

here are my first two images to post.. the first was taken last year in Andulicia in Spain of a Siberian Tiger.. the other is of my photographer friend Graham.. taken whilst chilling at the Photography Show this year at the NEC in birmingham.. AL
